10 Quick and easy beauty tips to get out the door looking fabulous while preventing the aging process

Tip #1: A beautiful smile can always improve one’s appearance instantly. Put your favorite teeth whitening strips on right when you roll out of bed so you have them on for at least 15-30mins while you’re getting ready. Try Crest 3D White Luxe Supreme FlexFit White strips. These strips are thin and comfortable.

Tip #2: A quick spray of dry shampoo in the morning can always make hair look less greasy and provide a little more volume. I recommend BosRenew Volumizing Dry Shampoo.  This product is specially formulated with DHT inhibitors for fine and thinning hair. It can help absorb all oils while unblocking the hair shaft promoting hair growth.  This makes your hair look fresh and clean in minimal time.

Tip #3: To mend frizz, split ends and to make hair look lush try a small amount of Trader Joes Organic Virgin Coconut Oil when styling your hair in the morning.  Rub a small pea size amount into your palms and on the ends of your hair. Coconut oil will give your hair and scalp a treatment all day long. For a soft up do look, try it to slick back any flyways.

Tip #4: Before applying any makeup or product to your face in the morning, apply an all in one sunscreen that is a physical block with a moisturizer.  This will provide moisture and sun protection all day long. I recommend EltaMD UV Daily Broad-Spectrum SPF 40. This amazing product is a sunscreen, a moisturizer and anti-aging product in one. It contains hyaluronic acid, which is naturally found in the body to help hydrate the skin. It pulls the water to the surface helping fill tiny dehydrated fine lines.

Tip #5: If you have acne, discoloration and photo-damaged skin, apply Elta MD UV Clear Tinted Broad-Spectrum SPF 46 Pump in the morning. It contains vitamin B3 and lactic acid which are great for even the most sensitive skin types and will help repair and protect skin throughout the day. It comes in a non-tinted and a tinted formula that blends to all skin types.

Tip #6: For additional coverage in a short amount of time, mix a small amount of foundation with your choice of facial sunscreen.  This one-two punch helps protect your skin while covering up any blemishes.  Try Jane Iredale Glow Time Mineral BB Cream. Use it alone or mix it with a sunscreen for added SPF Coverage. This mineral-based BB cream features a water-resistant formula that lasts for up to 40 minutes. This cream also reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Tip #7: To prevent wasting time getting your lipstick just right in the morning, rub your toothbrush gently over your lips before putting on any products. It will take off any excess dry skin and stimulate your lips to give a little more volume to your look. Any product will glide over this easily and prevent you from wasting time perfecting your pout.

Tip #8:  Sometimes we sleep through the alarm or hit snooze one too many times.  This cuts our morning routine in half.  To fake that awake look quickly if you don’t have time to put on a full face of makeup, put mascara on the upper and the lower lashes to make even the most tired eyes look more awake in a heartbeat.

Tip #9: The biggest tip to shortening your morning routine is to start it the night before.  Place two already brewed bags of Lipton black tea in the fridge. When the tea bags become cold to the touch place, them on your eyes for 2 minutes. The caffeine will help take away any excess puffiness. Doing this the night before can cut down on time in the morning. To help with puffiness, wrinkles and dark circles around the eyes try an eye cream like Skin Medica Illuminating Eye Cream after your tea bag treatment.  It will speed up the circulation around the eye area to help drain blood that causes puffiness and dark circles. Their award winning growth factors help with fine lines and wrinkles even after it’s washed off. Remember to always pat your eye cream instead of rubbing to avoid damaging the delicate orbital skin.

Tip #10: Another quick beauty tip that can’t be stressed enough is to drink a glass of water while getting ready. This extra boost of hydration will replenish the moisture that was lost during sleep and wake your body up faster, allowing you to get ready faster.  It helps your body from the inside out, leading to more energy, clearer skin, and a more radiant you. It will also speed up the lymph flow which you will feel all day long. By Hollie Tyler, Nurse Practitioner
