The holiday season is in full swing and with it comes sweet treats, shopping sprees and parties galore. But long nights of holiday prep or one too many champagne toasts can wreak havoc on your skin. Put your best face forward for the festivities with one of these glowing treatments, all of which we offer at Illuminate Face & Body Bar.
One of our most popular services is the Hydrafacial. It’s a four-step, fully customizable, medical-grade facial that leaves your skin glowing and hydrated from the inside out. The facial consists of a cleansing process, a chemical peel, painless extractions and finishes with a serum consisting of antioxidants, peptides and Hyaluronic Acid. The best part? Zero downtime.
Transform your skin in just one week. The Perfect Peel contains a blend of powerful ingredients suitable for all skin types that improves the tone, texture and clarity of the skin while reducing dark spots, softening wrinkle lines and stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. The peel combines five different acids + Glutathione, which is known to fight damage and enhance cellular health while creating clearer, brighter skin.
Advanced medical grade microneedling applies micro punctures to the skin to encourage collagen production and to improve the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and scars by using platelet rich plasma (PRP). After some of your blood is removed, it is treated and infused back into your skin during the micro needling process to make your skin visibly smoother while reducing the appearance of wrinkles.
Skin-Beautifying Hot Chocolate via The Chalkboard
Can’t make it into Illuminate until 2018? Enjoy a traditional holiday libation with a beautifying twist. We’re loving this healthy hot chocolate from The Chalkboard that includes Vital Proteins Collagen and Philosophie’s Cacao Magic, both sold at our Brentwood & Newport Beach locations!
For hot chocolate:
3 cups milk of choice
5 Tbsp raw cacao powder, such as Philosophie’s Cacao Magic
1-2 Tbsp collagen powder, such as Vital Proteins Collagen
2 Tbsps raw honey
1 Tbsp tocotrienol powder
1 tsp pine pollen
stevia to taste
For coconut whipped creme:
1 can full-fat coconut milk
1 Tbsp honey or coconut nectar
1 tsp vanilla extract
For hot cacao:
In a medium sauce pan, add the milk and other ingredients. Gently warm milk, stirring occasionally until warm and well combined, about 5-10 minutes.
Enjoy warm with an optional dollop of coconut cream (directions below).
For coconut whipped cream:
Set the can in the fridge overnight so that the coconut fat solids separate from the coconut water.
Open the can and carefully pour out the thick coconut cream. With an electric whisk, beat the cream, sweetener and vanilla extract on high until peaks form, about 2-3 minutes.
If not serving immediately, place the bowl of whipped coconut cream in the fridge for 15-20 minutes and then beat it again right before serving it.
