What is Meditation?
Meditation is a relaxing exercise for your mind that helps you to reduce stress, boost immunity, balance your emotions, and slow down the aging process.
We live in a fast paced world and are more stressed than ever before. We invite you to switch off your phone for a bit and take a brain break. We’re confident this simple meditation practice will enhance your Illuminate experience.
What can you expect?
After your check in and go to your treatment room, you will enjoy a few minutes of meditation prior to your treatment. You will sit in a relaxed position in your chair then put on your comfortable, sanitized headphones then choose the length of your meditation: 6, 9, or 12 minutes.
How to experience meditation?
Close your eyes and follow the spoken instructions. Listen to the music and the guided meditation. You will be directed to focus on certain ideas, images, or sounds. At first you may find that your mind wanders more than you anticipated. You may think this means you can’t meditate, but don’t worry. Anyone can meditate.
A wandering mind is normal and you don’t have to be an expert meditator to experience the benefits.
Tips for Meditating
If you become distracted during meditation ( i.e. if you are human) don’t worry. When you notice your mind wandering, just bring your attention back to the idea. When your mind wanders again, when you notice, bring it back again. It is kind of like training a dog.
The music helps to put you in a peaceful and calm mood. This makes meditation easier. Focus on your breath, idea, or sound as instructed. You want to create a positive impression in your mind so we always meditate on a positive idea like love, radiance, or beauty.
One technique we teach is to mentally repeat a “mantra.” You will hear a Sanskrit mantra being sung with some of our music. Sound has a very powerful effect on your emotions. Think about how you feel when you hear natural sounds like a waterfall or bird sound versus traffic and construction noise. There is a big difference, right?
The combination of music and mantra is designed to put you into a state of peace and happiness. Music and mantra are the quickest way to change your state of mind.
The Mantra we use:
The Mantra we use has three words: Baba Nam Kevalam. It means that deep within us is a limitless feeling of peace, love and harmony.

The Inner Radiance Meditation Experience was created exclusively for Illuminate Face & Body Bar in collaboration with expert meditation teacher Dada Nabhaniilananda. Dada is an ordained Ananda Marga Yoga monk and has taught meditation to thousands of people in over 40 countries and appeared on stage with the Dalai Lama. His book, Close your Eyes, Open your Mind, has been translated in over 10 languages. Dada is committed to teaching meditation and creating joy in the hearts of all his students.
